3 Items Every Woman Should Have In Her Closet

2/25/2020

There are certain items of clothing that are indispensable in a woman's closet. A great pair of jeans, for example, is a staple that most women really can't live without. But there are some pieces of clothing that up your game from just nice to truly feminine - and those are the perfect addition to your wardrobe.

The reason I bring this up is because it’s easy nowadays to get caught up in what’s comfortable – athleisure in and of itself is considered fashion, so why not lean into it? But having the opportunity to look beautiful is something we as women take for granted. So I suggest having just three items in your wardrobe to reach for on those days when you want to feel feminine and womanly. Just wait and see how easy it is to take your closet from good to great!

1. A Classic Trench Coat

Do you remember Audrey Hepburn in the classic film Breakfast at Tiffany’s? In it, she wears a classic trench coat that I remember seeing and envying as a young woman. Why are trench coats so sexy? For starters, they’re flattering! They belt at the waist, defining the thinnest part of you. And if you decide to wear it open, you can tie it in the back, again defining your shape. The Most Classic Oscars 2020 Looks

2/10/2020

Did you watch the Oscars this year?

I know the part of the Oscars that I actually enjoy is seeing the beautiful gowns, makeup, and jewelry that the stars wear. The fashion is so much fun to watch that even if I don't tune in the for the award show itself, I always check and see what the actresses wore the next day!

Well, this year I did actually watch the entire Oscars ceremony and I noticed some beautifully classic looks that I thought I would share with you all. And of course, I'd love to hear your opinions too! So let's get started.

Rebel Wilson

Rebel Wilson looked absolutely stunning at the Oscars this year. This gown is so beautiful, classic, and flattering, and I love the gold fabric. Pairing this gorgeous dress with Veronica Lake curls and a red lip was the perfect addition to this beautifully classic look!

Alison Balsom

I love this look. I had actually never heard of Alison Balsom before, but she is an incredibly accomplished woman in her own right, outside of her marriage to director Sam Mendes. She's a trumpeter and music educator, and she looked great in her gown at the Oscars this year. This color works so well on her skin tone, and the square cut of this neckline is incredibly flattering. As well, the fit of this dress is just perfect, and her soft updo pairs well with this very architectural dress.

Mindy Kaling

When I saw Mindy Kaling's Oscars look, I was so excited! This is the perfect color for her, and she pulls it off so well. This asymmetrical neckline is beautiful, but with that necklace it is absolutely breathtaking. The simplicity of this gown with the standout color makes for a classic look with a bit of a twist.

Renee Zellweger

This dress is all about fit, and it fits Renee Zellweger to a T! The design of this gown is essentially simple, but the fabric and fit are what bring this gown from boring to beautiful. If a dress is made to fit, that's what makes it look expensive, and this dress does exactly that.

America Ferrera

How beautiful does America Ferrera look?? I love this pregnancy gown. It has the classic empire waist, perfect for showing off her growing bump, and the sleeves are so unique. As well, this color is a standout on the red carpet, and pairing it with her long brown locks is a great choice. Despite not being the biggest fan of her headband, I still think this look is one of the most classic of the evening.

Scarlett Johansson

I chose to put this on the list because I love that Scarlett Johansson is accentuating her curves in a very classic way. The corseting of the top half of the dress is beautiful and is covered by the draping gold threads which only add to the flattering cut of this gown. As well, the skirt is long and lustrous and shows off her hips so beautifully. I think this dress is truly feminine and classic while still being modern.

Regina King

It seems that asymmetrical gowns were the look of the night, and Regina King was no exception! What makes her gown stand out is, once again, fit. The bodice of this gown fits her like a glove and it is really stunning. As well, the beading is very intricate and the sheath skirt with the ballgown train adds flair.

Krysty Wilson Cairns

Nominated for Best Original Screenplay for the 92nd Academy Awards, Krysty Wilson-Cairns co-writer of the movie 1917 wears an Alberta Ferretti Limited Edition beige duchesse and tulle ball gown to the 2020 Oscars Ceremony.#AlbertaFerretti#Oscars #Oscar2020 pic.twitter.com/9OC0V9OPn4

— AlbertaFerretti (@AlbertaFerretti) February 10, 2020
The writer of 1917 looked so beautiful in this unique but classic gold number. I love the tulle skirt paired with the peplum top. A truly classic look would have been a fitted bodice and a tulle skirt, but the added layer of the peplum brings this gown into 2020 and is really an interesting take on the classic ballgown look.

Sigourney Weaver

I wanted to finish off my list with this stunner. Sigourney Weaver's gown was so beautiful, feminine, and classic. The color is a beautiful, rich tone, and the belt at the waist is very flattering. The flowiness of the fabric is lovely, and this fits Sigourney Weaver's persona so well.

I hope you guys enjoyed this roundup of the most classic looks from the Oscars this year! What were your favorite looks? Let me know in the comments below!
